Jack Christie, Herpetologist
If you’ve ever wondered who’s behind the scenes caring for - and advocating for - Mississippi’s most misunderstood wildlife, meet Jack Christie.
Since joining MDWFP in January 2026, Jack’s days have already spanned everything from working with the museum’s herpetology collections to heading into the field in search of elusive reptiles and amphibians.
Originally from the Pacific Northwest and now firmly rooted in the Southeast, Jack brings a passion for conservation, a love for “underdog” species.
We’re excited to introduce the herpetologist helping ensure Mississippi’s herps get the attention - and respect - they deserve.
Gabi Guest, Conservation Educator
Whether she’s caring for our animal ambassadors, assisting researchers in the field, or turning a nervous visitor into a newfound snake fan, Gabi Guest’s passion for conservation education shines through in everything she does.
We’re excited to share more about the educator who makes conservation come to life - one question or story at a time!
Giants of the Ice Age Party
Over 400 Museum Foundation Members joined us to launch the Giants of the Ice Age exhibit on January 30, 2026!
A huge thank you to our Sponsors, Board, Volunteers, and Museum Staff who made this event possible. Your support brings engaging, interactive experiences like this to life for our Members and visitors.
Honoring Chris Zachow
Chris Zachow turned a childhood love of museums into two decades of transformational leadership as President and Treasurer of the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science Foundation. From bringing blockbuster exhibits to life, to steering the Foundation through its strategic growth and a global pandemic, Chris has helped shape the Museum into the beloved destination it is today. As she prepares for her well-earned retirement, we reflect on her incredible impact - and the legacy she leaves behind for future generations of science lovers. This is the story of a leader who followed her curiosity - and invited all of us along with her.
