HOW LONG HAVE YOU WORKED FOR MDWFP’S MISSISSIPPI MUSEUM OF NATURAL SCIENCE?
I started in November of 2025.
WHAT’S YOUR WORKDAY LIKE?
Majority of the time you can find me taking care of our animal ambassadors, doing a reptiles or endangered species program, or even out on the floor with some of our animal ambassadors spreading awareness about our native species.
ANY FUNNY WORK STORIES?
While I was holding one of our animal ambassadors, the Eastern Indigo snake, I turned my head only to notice that we almost had a mouth-to-mouth situation.
TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOUR BACKGROUND AND EDUCATION
I have a Bachelor of Science from Mississippi State University in Animal Science.
I have volunteered at many different places, including zoos and veterinary clinics.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS CAREER?
I have always had a great affinity for science, nature, and wildlife.
As a conservation educator, I get to combine all the things that I love while being able to showcase the importance of conservation to kids and adults.

I am able to contribute to conservation by educating the public and being able to spread more awareness about our native species in Mississippi through educational programs and interactions with our animal ambassadors.
